The 50K Coalition Regional Hub Convenings are dynamic gatherings that foster diversity and inclusion in engineering education. These events aim to bring educators, advocates, and changemakers together to address critical issues and develop strategies for increasing underrepresented students’ participation in engineering programs.
The convenings welcome a diverse audience, including but not limited to faculty, administrators, industry professionals, researchers, elected officials, and advocates passionate about creating equitable pathways for underrepresented students in engineering.
The Regional Hub Convenings will build upon the outcomes of the 50K Coalition’s May 2021 Community College Linkages Action Network Group’s National Forum. They aim to focus on critical areas such as articulation agreements, coursework design, communication, partnership building, and addressing the marginalization of community college students.
Attendees can expect engaging keynote addresses from subject matter experts, interactive panel discussions, World Café conversations for collaborative idea sharing, best practice showcases, and ample networking opportunities with like-minded individuals and institutions.
The Regional Hub Demonstration Projects aim to increase the number of underrepresented students in engineering programs at four-year institutions, improve collaboration between community colleges and four-year institutions, scale the number of partner institutions in each Regional Hub, pilot and scale best practices, and develop sustainable infrastructure and governance models for the Hubs.
No, registration for the Regional Hub Convenings is free of charge. However, we encourage participants to register early to secure their spots, as seats are limited.
The Regional Hub Convenings are planned as in-person events.

Yes, the 50K Coalition understands the importance of ensuring diverse representation at the Regional Hub Convenings. As part of our commitment to fostering inclusivity, a limited number of travel stipends will be available for out-of-town guests who need financial assistance to attend the event. These stipends will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
To apply for a travel stipend, please indicate your interest during the registration process and complete the necessary application form. The application will include details about your travel plans and an explanation of your financial need. Our team will carefully review all applications and allocate stipends based on availability and alignment with the event’s objectives.
