Keynote Address: Using Systems Thinking to Scale our Collective Wisdom

Why is it so challenging to meet parity despite our best efforts to increase BIPOC and Women engineers? What can we do differently to achieve this result? The purpose of this keynote is to help you:

  • Understand why good intentions are not enough to improve complex system performance,
  • Differentiate systems from conventional thinking,
  • Learn and apply a basic tool of systems thinking, and
  • Identify four high-leverage interventions that address the closely connected problems of structural racism and wealth inequality
